Information about SSL, the benefits of using it

Security has always been a priority when working on the Internet and surfing the web. Do you agree?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a protocol that provides security by applying modern encryption methods to confidential information all over the Internet. It creates a secure channel between the user's browser and the server of the site that the user wants to visit. Any information transmitted over this channel is encrypted at one end and decrypted when received at the other.

An SSL certificate is a small data file that uses a crypto key to digitally bind your site's files.

Sites with SSL are easily recognizable because they have the prefix https instead of http in front of their address.

SSL benefits
An SSL certificate can be useful to both the end user and the site owner. Over the past few years, Internet users have started to pay more attention to security, which makes the use of SSL even more important for modern websites.

SSL certificate makes your website look more professional
Take, for example, e-commerce sites whose business model is based on sensitive information such as credit card details. PCI (Payment Card Industry) standards require online payments to be made with SSL protection, with at least 128-bit encryption. What makes online transactions as secure as possible is great advertising for your brand.

Information encryption
The primary impetus for using SSL is the strength of the security it offers. SSL ensures that every packet of communication between the user's browser and a website with SSL installed is protected by the most modern encryption technology. This means that in the event of an unauthorized interception, the data will be encrypted and impossible to read.

Google loves sites that use SSL
Some companies spend a lot of resources on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) without even knowing that a simple SSL installation can give their site the opportunity to dramatically improve their search engine rankings. A site with SSL ranks better on Google than without it. According to MOZ, half of Google's results are HTTPS and this number is growing! :)
